need help with your plumbing? check out the nearest tree...

This is a common sight in Metro Manila. Ads for plumbers nailed to coconut trees. Hope the DENR Secretary does something about this or the only flowers and palm trees we'll ever see are those in shirts he loves to wear.

alternative to yellow pages....

Results of June 11, 2007 Voluntary Retake Examination for June 2006 Nurses Released

The wait is over. The results for the DOLE-initiated Voluntary Retake Examination held last 11 June 2007 have been released. Click on the link for the RESULTS.

I remember the days leading to the Special Nursing Review and the Registration for them. It was a nightmare.

One parent came to us and swore to God and his being a 'Christian'that he 'registered' his son online before the deadline, only for us to find out that he was telling a lie as the computer records have shown. Faced with this, he attempted to bribe us or drop hints for that in exchange for his son's inclusion in the review. Some Christian eh?.

another one complained about "illogical" requirements of the CGFNS, saying that US benefits in the long run, that it is a slap on the face of pinoys - all because he failed to register for the free reviews on time. after lamenting on these and tons more, he STILL he would want to go to the US, he said.

Then there was the elder sister guardian of twins who came to our office and gave us a tongue-lashing why we "advised" the twins to review in Baguio City when what we specifically said that as they were already late registrants, the only "open" review centers were those North of Manila including Baguio. IF they really wanted to avail of the government-subsidized review and exams. When confronted, it appeared that the twins only wanted to go to Baguio for some R & R. But the guardian wouldn't budge.

Then there were late registrants who insisted to be included by name-dropping, presenting endorsement and recommendation letters from the big and mighty and the like. whew!

it's a good thing that the DOLE and the UP College of Nursing which were on top of things moved heaven and earth to accomodate as many as possible.

Hope there would now be a closure to all this brouhaha. And make the 69% of the first batch of examinees eligible for VisaScreen Certificate and allow them to chase their dreams in the USA.
